Does insurance cover TMS therapy?
Initial Consultation
The first direct consultation with the mental health therapist for transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy may be covered by insurance. However, reimbursement is totally dependent on your personalized mental health insurance policy. Payment should be made during the consultation time at our Sacramento Neuropsych Associates clinic located in Folsom, California. We accept most payment forms. We will immediately furnish you with a paid receipt so you can submit the same to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.
Pre-authorization for mental health services
In case coverage is available for TMS therapy, the insurance companies need pre-authorization for covered psychiatric services. We advise you to get in touch with your insurance carrier regarding your pre-authorization requirements.
You can contact our clinic at 916-473-2235 if you have any queries regarding any assistance for the pre-authorization process or any details from your insurance carrier.
Remember that even if you are covered under insurance, you should still pay TMS therapy charge during the initial treatment period, in accordance with the self-pay charges, mentioned here.
